Adding an Event

To add an event:

THIS IS BEST DONE IN FIREFOX OR INTERNET EXPLORER 8+!

Go to Events --> Add an Event

You will need to log in. if you have forgotten your credentials, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . There is an account for leader, and non-webmaster use. We cannot post the credentials online, for obvious reasons, but you ARE ENCOURAGED to add events yourself.
Once you login, you will need to go back to the Add an Event Page

Although there are a lot of fields you can fill out, there are only 3 mandatory: Event Name, Location, and Date.

If you have a street address for your event, click on "Set Position" to add a google map to the events page.

Click on the calendar next to each date field to set each date looking at a pop-up calendar.

If you want to set a time, the fields accept 24 hour time, i.e. 5:00 PM is 17:00.

Note that there are actually three tabs of info. You can also add a contact person, and more typed info.

Click SUBMIT when you're done, and your event will automatically appear in the calendar, and on the home page as its date approaches!

To Remove an Event

If you are an administrator:
  1. Login to the Back-End
  2. In the menus find Components --> SimpleCalendar --> Calendar
  3. There is paging in the event manager too, so if you can't find the event its probably on another page
  4. Check the box next to the event you want to remove,
  5. Click "Delete" in the top right.
If you are a Leader:
  1. Edit the event you want to remove. Log in with the leader account here: Find it in the Events List, and click on it
  2. Next to the header, there should be an icon with a page and a pencil, that says "Edit" when you mouse over it. Click the icon.
  3. Add the word "DELETED" to the Event Name, and change its date to a date in the past. This way it will not show up in the main list or in the home page. It will temporarily show up in "past events," but since you added the word "DELETED" to the title, it will be pretty obvious that it is not a real event.
  4. Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and ask them to remove it permanently.
