Take Pictures! Submit Them!

You will undoubtedly notice that photo galleries are very slow in getting to troop440.com. This is because, in general, the only event photos that are ever given to the webmaster(s) are those photos that they take themselves. Your photos are not magically sublimed to the web when you take them. If you have troop photos that you would like to see on the web, you need to submit them.

Submitting via CD

Probably the easiest way to submit photos is via CD. Burn your photos to a CD, and give them to either Mr. Schurmann or Bryan. They will be able to handle it from there. This works best for many photos.

We ask you not to email photos. Photos are large, they fill up the webmaster mailbox, and due to attachment size limitations, it is likely that we will not get them in the first place

Submitting via PhotoFTP

In the past, some committee members have elected to upload photos to troop webspace themselves. Troop440.com can provide you with a photoFTP account, as well as instructions for using FTP. In general, this is a good option for only those committee members who consider themselves competent computer users. It involves new software, setup time, setup instructions etc... It is not hard to learn, if you are comfortable with computers.
