Ruins of the Overlook Hotel
in W oodstock N.Y.
Troop 440 is founded on a few simple principles. We have always been a very active troop, for we believe that experience is the best teacher of all. Throughout the years we have made many memories hiking, backpacking, camping, climbing, swimming and just having fun. We currently have photo records stretching back to the mid 1980's. We are in the (ever-so-slow) process of digitizing them.

On the left, you can find links to our photo galleries. You will, of course note, that they are password-protected. We require our scouts to sign a waiver before their photos are released to the web -- and do our best ensure their privacy online in return. If you are a member of the troop and you have photos to offer -- send an email to anyone at the Contacts link to the left, and they will be more than happy to take the appropriate measures to get your memories online for the whole troop to see.
If you are a new scout (or a forgetful scout's family), you can email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to request a password. There is only one sign-on, so any other scout can give you the password as well. Please use discretion when giving friends/family the username/password to the galleries. Remember that they are not only photos of you - but photos of everyone. Everyone's privacy is in your hands, so be responsible.
The two photos on this page are both very popular Troop 440 destinations. Most of our senior scouts have probably visited them five times or more. We are always looking for new and interesting adventures - so don't think we aren't open to suggestions. If you have an idea, bring it up at a meeting! We are always looking for fun troop activities.
The galleries on the left only represent the most recent photo galleries we have. You can click on Older Galleries to scroll through the 40+ galleries currently on the site. Remember to check back from time to ti me, we are always taking trips, and having a lot of fun. Several of our adult leaders are practicing amateur photographers, so the photos continue to flow.
Happy Viewing!
